Cervilon is a proprietary Ayurvedic medication in the form of soft gel capsules, primarily used for addressing problems of the cervical spine. It is manufactured by AVN Ayurveda.
Here's a breakdown of what you need to know about Cervilon:
Uses of Cervilon
  • Cervical Spondylosis: This includes conditions with or without radiculopathy (nerve pain radiating from the neck) or myelopathy (spinal cord compression).
  • Fibro-myalgia of the neck: It can help relieve pain and stiffness in the neck muscles associated with fibromyalgia.
  • Osteoarthritis of the facet joints: It can be beneficial in managing pain and inflammation related to osteoarthritis in the facet joints of the neck.
  • Sprain/spasm of cervical muscles: It can help alleviate muscle pain and spasms in the neck region.
  • Potentially for other conditions: Some practitioners also use it for conditions like ulnar nerve entrapment, migraine, headache, tinnitus, and Meniere's disease.
How Cervilon works
Cervilon works through a multi-faceted approach:
  • Corrects dehydration of intervertebral discs: It helps in rehydrating the discs, which can be crucial in halting degenerative changes in the cervical spine.
  • Strengthens paravertebral muscles: It aids in strengthening the muscles supporting the neck, providing stability and reducing strain.
  • Relieves myofascial spasm: It acts as a muscle relaxant, reducing spasms and associated pain.
  • Provides anti-inflammatory action: It possesses mild anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce swelling and pain.
